Motorhomes all have a battery isolator that will provide power (volts) to charge both house and chassis batteries whether you are connected to shore power or are driving down the road.
Often times you realize you have a problem when you’ve been sitting for a while and you can’t start your rig due to a low charge on your chassis battery. The problem could be your “charging switch” or battery isolator.
I found that often times the stock battery isolator isn’t as heavy-duty as it probably should be. I decided to replace my stock\factory battery isolator relay with “the Big Boy” If your batteries are not charging as they should, the battery isolator (charging bridge) is not always the culprit.
The following are all potential reasons why your batteries are not charging:
- Batteries are old or have been ruined due to not maintaining a proper charge (too low or too high).
- Your inverter/charger needs to be reset (soft or hard) or is bad.
